Camila Mesquita is a native of Sao Paulo Brazil where she attended university and obtained an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Communications. Combining her love of travel with her desire to foster her affinity for visual arts, she decided to come to America. Her time was well spent in New York where she attended intensive workshops at ICP (International Center of Photography) and received an MFA from Visual Studies Workshop at S.U.N.Y. Brockport. Upon her return to Sao Paulo she embarked on a 15 year career in graphic design and illustration. It was sometime in 2008 that she could no longer deny her fascination for vintage textiles and endeavored to educate herself further. In 2011 Camila took a more “hands on” artistic approach and spent 6 months at Penland School of Crafts in South Carolina. There she immersed herself completely in the exploration of myriad textile workshops including feltmaking, shibori, natural dyes for fiber & cloth and alternative jewelry fabrication and casting techniques.

Today she lives in Copenhagen. The city of her heart.
